Some more things I’ve thought about this week which didn’t require a full post.
This article someone shared with me about people who LOVE being almost late for a flight gave me stomach trouble. I get running late, I do. Life happens. But people who actively try to cut it close? I’ll admit that when I flew for work, I did start trying to cut it close - but this was all pre-9/11. With security checks, increasing TSA issues and just a general desire to not add unnecessary stress to an already stressful life, it’s bonkers to me. This quote gave me chills:
“I kind of love the drama of running through an airport,” says Mac Joseph, a friend of mine who works in public relations. “I hate lines. I hate the idea of waiting. I’ll be the last person to board the plane, no matter where I’m sitting.”
I don’t know Mac Joseph, but I’m worried he might be a sociopath.
This story about the utter mess that is what’s happening at a true gem, Corica Park in Alameda is not “fun” whatsoever, but needs more sunlight. We live in a spot full of people with disposable wealth. Can’t someone step in and make this work?
I’ve been enjoying White Lotus Season 2 and I’m super glad that Jennifer Coolidge is getting her bag of cash. I support almost everyone getting paid and she’s been a working actress for quite some time. But man….I am actually really, really tired of her schtick. The Old Navy “Hashtag Sorry Not Sorry” commercial is one of the worst commercials out there, which is saying something. WHY are commercials so bad? I assume it’s solely because they all go through so many reviews in an effort to not offend anyone, and that the final approvers are humorless rodents who just have some marketing spend to get rid of so their budgets aren’t cut next year. Nothing else makes sense.
Sometimes, worlds collide. I have thought about the following clip a LOT in years past, since Radiohead changed so much after this album came out that it’s legitimately hilarious that they performed on MTV’s Beach House. And then, this week Today In Tabs posted a link to this very video, something I’d been meaning to do and kept forgetting. So, here you go!
