The Curse of the Lie.
One of the biggest curses in fantasy sports is when your players get injured. I memorably had a fantasy baseball team were 22 different players spent time on the DL.
(Interestingly, on the fly I can't think of any of those players ... except Ken Griffey, Jr. For that was the final straw, and the year I vowed to never own The Kid again - I haven't, and it's worked out just fine.)
But what's even worse? Is finding out AFTER the season that a guy who woefully underperformed was actually injured. This happened to me once with Dodger OF Shawn Green and others - and now, it appears, it's happened with Giants RB Brandon Jacobs.
My immediate response:

Now, I think this could easily be an excuse a player gives out for simply having a bad year. And in the NFL, that's easy - everyone is injured throughout the season, in ways that non-athletes (and without painkillers) would be debilitated by.
Still, Brandon Jacobs? You're now on my list.
