This is why corporations suck
I'm supposed to be in a meeting right now. One with some pretty high level Vice Presidents. When I responded to the meeting invitation, I noticed that there wasn't a call-in number - something I needed because I had a meeting at 2:00 in a completely different building. (My firm being what it is, it has office space in five or six large office buildings downtown, only a few which are in close proximity to each other.)
I got no response. This morning, I left a voicemail for the administrative assistant of the executive who called the meeting. (This is the same person who I responded to the initial invite from.)
I got no response.
I've since left voicemails for two other attendees, as well as sending emails to what I hope is the Blackberry of someone I know who is attending.
I've got...wait for it...no response.
So, instead I write. Now, the sad reality of this is, I need to know what's decided in that meeting. Instead of having anyone there with any content knowledge, people are going to be making decisions out of their ass. (And, I've seen these people's asses, and that's really not a good way to go. These meetings will help decide budgets and resources for three large projects through the end of the year...which essentially will dictate jobs. And yet here I sit...alone.
*UPDATE* The administrative assistant finally came back from lunch, so I've joined the meeting halfway through. NO clue what got decided in the last thirty minutes...
