did they show a movie first? did you eventually get a boat to the memorial? will you ever go to Hawaii again? personally, I hate the place.

We didn't get out to the USS Arizona itself - the wait would have been 2 1/2 hours - but the rest of the Pearl Harbor Memorial was amazing. And well worth the time. As for Hawaii, I'm happy to go to any of the resort islands and relax, even at the impossibly stupid prices. But Oahu? Probably not going back. Glad I have been there though, but once I think is enough.

No one loves Hawaii more than me. Ok maybe some folks. But I'm in the top 5%. Yet, overall, my experience is those who live in Hawaii are not fond of the Haoles. Resorts are generally cool because everyone working there makes their living off the mainland folks. And when Covid happened, tourism dried up for a year+ and the local gov'ts felt pressure to open up the island earlier than the locals would have liked - the issue is exacerbated. This isn't to say I condone rude behavior - I hate it - but I feel I understand at least a bit, why.

Eh, I don't disagree with the points but if you hate tourists, you really, REALLY should find a job that isn't spending your entire workday interacting with them.
